Dr. King attended the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He then completed his family practice residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He has practiced in the Austin and Cedar Park area since 2001. Dr. King and his wife, Debbie, have three children, Isabelle, Anwen, and Emilia.  Dr. King's interests include family activities, physical fitness, boating, wakeboarding and hydrofoiling.

Dr. King serves on the Primary Care Advisory Board at Round Rock Hospital, as well as, the Local Advisory Board for Sanofi Pastuer.
