Dr. Lisa Hutchens went to college at North Texas State University in Denton and graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.  She completed her pediatric residency at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia.  Dr. Hutchens then spent 3 years working at the Choctaw Nation Indian Hospital in Talihina, Oklahoma.  While her husband completed his sports medicine fellowship, she was a clinical instructor in the ambulatory care clinic supervising residents and medical students at the University of Alabama Children's Hospital in Birmingham.  In 1991 the family moved to Austin and Dr. Hutchens chose to stay at home and care for her then young children.  Since 1996 she has practiced pediatrics part-time in the Austin / Round Rock area. Dr. Hutchens participates regularly in continuing medical education programs and has recertified twice with the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Hutchens is a member of the Travis County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Hutchens is married to Dr. Mark Hutchens and they have 2 grown children, Jared and Alana.  She enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and sports as well as keeping up with her kids!
